Mehmet Solgun was born in Besni on April 1, 1961. He studied at Sivas High School and graduated from the Faculty of Law at İstanbul University in 1985. He assumed the positions as the District Governor of Göksun, Mesudiye, Patnos, Kurtalan and Haymana; Deputy Governor of Uşak, Sakarya and Konya and the Deputy Undersecretary of Marine. He was appointed as the Member of the Council of State on May 21, 2010 by the President of The Republic of Turkey, and elected as the Vice-President of Council of State on September 12, 2013. Mr. Solgun, who got his master’s degree from the Division of Private Law at the Institute of Social Sciences, Istanbul University in 2001, can speak French and is married with one child.
